Annealing method of 15CrMo seamless steel pipe

At present, 15CrMo seamless steel pipe consumed accounts for half amount of steel of developed countries. The wide applications of 15CrMo seamless steel pipes provide a broader space for the development of the industry. According to the survey, the demand of 15CrMo seamless steel pipe will grow up to 10-12% in the future.
How is 15CrMo seamless steel pipe annealed? When 15CrMo seamless steel pipe is heated to a certain temperature (usually below the recrystallization temperature), keep for a period of time, and then slowly cooled to eliminate the stress in seamless steel pipe.
In the process of pressure processing, casting, welding, heat treatment, cutting and other processes, the product may produce internal stress. In most cases, after the end of the process, the metal will retain a part of the residual stress. Residual stress can lead to breakdown, deformation or size change of the workpiece. Though residual stress improve the chemical activity of the metal, which is likely to cause intergranular corrosion and cracking under the residual stress. Therefore, residual stress will affect the performance of seamless steel pipe or lead to premature failure of the workpiece.
During the annealing, the 15CrMo seamless steel pipe can achieve the purpose of elimination through internal deformation (when the stress exceeds the yield strength of the material at this temperature) or the local relaxation process (when the stress is less than the yield strength of the material at this temperature) under certain temperature.
The workpiece is generally slowly heated to a lower temperature (gray cast iron is 500-550 degrees, precision seamless steel pipe is 500-650 degrees, non-ferrous metal alloy stamping part is below the recrystallization temperature), keep for a period of time, and then slowly cooled to prevent the generation of new residual stress.
